Castle Oaks is a master planned
residential and commercial community in Castle Rock,
Colorado in the South Denver Metro area.
The property is generally located in the Northeast corner of
State Highway 86 and Founders Parkway, just a few miles east
of downtown Castle Rock. Approximately half of the
1,185 acres of Castle Oaks is open space, including
extensive stands of scrub oak and McMurdo Gulch. Even
the storm drainage in Castle Oaks has the look of open space
due to the design incorporating rectangular boulders
cemented in place as drop structures to slow the flow of
storm water into McMurdo Gulch.
During 2004 and 2005, 380
single-family lots were sold to DR Horton - Melody Homes and
Centex Homes. Inventory in 2010 includes 47
finished semi-custom lots, 69 semi-custom platted but
unfinished lots, and 87 platted but unfinished single-family
lots similar in size to the DR Horton and Centex lots
already sold. Phase I (for which all the
infrastructure is virtually completed) is planned for an elementary school (under construction in 2009-2010), and there are 3
unplatted townhome/patio home parcels. Subsequent
phases are planned for over 250 single-family lots, 1,500
multi-family units, and 40 acres of commercial property.
